Applied R&D, built for the long term.
Algocence is an applied financial and economic research and development company. We investigate complex problems across finance, develop proprietary research, models, algorithms, and datasets, and transform that work into practical products, analytical systems, and decision-making infrastructure — operating initially from Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
A research lab with the execution of a product company.
Algocence is not intended to operate as a traditional consultancy, a generic software development agency, or a purely academic research organization. It combines the strongest elements of a financial research lab, a product company, an economic intelligence firm, and a financial infrastructure builder.
Research is one half of the company. Building working products is the other. Neither side is treated as secondary — our objective is not merely to explain financial problems, but to build the working systems required to solve them.
The Caribbean is our initial operating environment, with Jamaica serving as an important starting point. It provides a distinctive laboratory: a region containing diverse financial systems, fragmented datasets, underserved institutions, and economic challenges that require original thinking — without limiting the company's ambition.
How We Want To Be Perceived
What We Are Not
The same operating cycle, every time.
Whether a project takes weeks or years, it moves through the same six stages before it becomes a system an institution relies on.
Investigate
Identify and study an important financial or economic problem.
Model
Develop the methodology, algorithm, or framework the problem requires.
Build
Turn the model into a working product or system.
Test
Validate against real institutional data before deployment.
Deploy
Implement the system within an institution's operations.
Improve
Refine the system as new data and conditions emerge.
From research lab to regional infrastructure.
The long-term ambition is for Algocence to become a major applied financial and economic R&D organization originating from the Caribbean — an organization that converts financial and economic problems into data products, algorithms, intelligence systems, and institutions.
Applied Financial Research
Studying markets, institutions, risks, and economic systems to produce proprietary insight and IP.
Financial Products
Specialized tools and applications that solve defined problems within different areas of finance.
Analytical Systems
Forecasting models, risk engines, simulation systems, and decision-support platforms.
Data Infrastructure
Organizing fragmented information into structured datasets, databases, and APIs.
Economic Intelligence
Systems that help institutions understand economies, industries, and emerging risks.
Institutional Infrastructure
In time, research networks, standards, observatories, and institutes for the region.
What we hold constant.
Begin with important problems
Not the technology. We determine what combination of research, data, and software a problem actually requires.
Build from evidence
Every model and product is grounded in tested data, not assumption.
Create reusable intellectual property
Long-term value comes from the proprietary models, methodologies, and systems we create.
Design for institutional realities
Products are built for the specific financial environments they will operate in — not generic use cases.
Transform insight into working systems
Our goal is reusable infrastructure, not insight for its own sake.
Maintain technical and intellectual independence
Algocence is grounded in regional realities while holding global technical and intellectual standards.
